The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her final two events this season as a result of a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will include trainer Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu because of back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
