Spurs Boss Frank Labels Goalkeeper Booers 'Not Real Fans'

The Cottagers Begin Powerfully to Beat Spurs and Raise Tension on Frank

Spurs fans who jeered goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were told afterwards "those individuals cannot be real Tottenham fans" by boss Frank.

Tottenham let in two goals in the first initial moments to lose 2-1 to their opponents, registering their tenth Premier League home loss of 2025.

But the main topic of discussion was Fulham's next goal when Vicario gave away possession well outside his box.

The goalkeeper ventured out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball towards the sideline.

However, instead of booting it into touch, the Italy international turned and tried to clear, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Wilson and was controlled by Josh King.

King passed the ball off to Wales midfielder Wilson, who curled a shot into the goal from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six metres.

Seconds afterwards when the ball came to the keeper again, some Spurs supporters booed him.

The team were booed off at half-time, with the club 2-0 down, and once more at full-time.

One of those jeering sessions really angered the manager.

"I heard a few of our supporters reportedly booed the incident and jeered following, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Dane commented regarding the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.

"Those individuals can't be true Tottenham supporters that do that. Alright booing following the game, fine, but when we are playing, we are backing each other, we are with one another going forward."

Tete had handed Fulham a fourth-minute advantage before Wilson's strike – with Kudus netting for Tottenham in an better second period showing.

Former top-flight goalkeeper Hart remarked that the second goal was "completely avoidable".

"I do understand the supporters' frustration," Hart continued. "I am aware the part Vicario is playing. He's a excellent squad member, he's a true figure in the dressing room but in the end you are going to be judged by your decisions.

"The keeper was heavily involved in what ended up to be the winning goal."

'It is In the Game, I Can Handle It'

Thomas Frank Stood Up For His Keeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Match

Italy international Vicario is in his 3rd season with Spurs.

He stated after the game that he had to take the feedback.

"The second goal was a error of mine, I take accountability for it," he said.

"My aim was to kick the ball long and I just struck the ball in a bad manner. That made an even bigger challenge to climb."

He stated being booed "is part of football".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "We can't be affected by the circumstances in the crowd. The fans have the right to do as they see fit.

"It's on us to remain more calm, to concentrate on ourselves. We are missing in composure and poise to overturn results. Today is a bad loss and it is tough to accept."

'It Shocked Me Nobody Returned to the Line'

Despite Vicario's mistake, it was not an simple goal for Harry Wilson to convert.

Actually it was the next longest-range Premier League score of the campaign – after Tyler Adams' 43.3 yard goal for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally too came on Saturday.

The goalscorer stated he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an empty goal to aim for.

Ten moments elapsed between Vicario coming out of his box and the midfielder striking – which was 5 moments after the kick.

"I felt like the keeper was away from the area for a long time," he said.

"I was surprised not one of the defenders returned to the line. When none of them defended the net, my interest lit up somewhat.

"Udogie slipped as well, which allowed me a bit of additional time. Then it was solely about trying to achieve the correct connection and place it on target. I had a positive feeling, as soon as it left my boot, that it was heading in."

'During in a Poor Run, Everything Appears to Work Against You'

Jeering While We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unjustifiable - the Manager

While Vicario's mistake dominated headlines, this was an all-round bad performance for Spurs to extend their home ground struggles.

This was their 10th home loss of the year in the league, a joint club statistic matching nineteen ninety-four and 2003.

They still have home games against the manager's old side Brentford and title holders the Reds to play before the close of the season.

Just a single of those victories have come after the manager replaced his predecessor in the off-season.

"When you're behind 2-0 after the opening, there is a huge challenge to climb," stated the boss.

"During in a poor run, all aspects appears to work against you as well – the first was a redirected shot, the second is a mistake from the keeper.

"The outcome puts us in a place where we have lost an additional game. Each fixture has a unique narrative, this game we lost in the first six minutes.

"We simply need to continue striving. The later period was much better and with luck something we can utilize to learn."

Tottenham have been defeated in four consecutive home capital clashes for the first time in the top division.

And they are recording nine point five shots and 3.2 shots on target per match in the Premier League – their lowest averages on file in a single season (since at least 2003-04).

Ex- Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy commented that the manager has to ride the storm.

"He must take the criticism," the pundit said. "He has taken a high profile job at a huge football club with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that accompanies that.

"The performances at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
