Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Report
Skydance Paramount will initiate large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 positions in the United States within a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are likely, as the firm intending to disclose full details in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Earlier reports suggested the firm planned to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response on the matter.
