Charli XCX Portrays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Mockumentary Preview
Charli XCX is gearing up for a substantial big screen appearance in 2026, beginning with the fictional documentary titled The Moment.
Throughout the movie, Charli portrays what she describes as a dark version of herself.
It’s the truest representation of the entertainment world that I’ve ever witnessed, Charli commented.
She elaborated in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, yet the concept originated from the demand to create one.
A Glimpse into The Film
The debut trailer, launched on this week, blends real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with made-up backstage scenes.
The Moment is directed and co-written by the director, who explained that the story revolves around a reality where Charli opted for alternate decisions in the marketing of her hugely successful record Brat.

She also joined to appear in Dakota Johnson’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, Charli shared. I feel very, very inspired currently in this area, and I solely choose to take on things that inspire me.

The month of February will also bring the release of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will include original songs from Charli.
Additionally, she will create the soundtrack for the story Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.
The film is set to premiere on the 30th of January.
